Kyle Carr, MD, Joins Foundation Board
The desire to serve on the Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation Board boils down to one word for Kyle Carr, MD. That word is “mission.”
“My interest is fairly simple,” he said. “The Foundation has a very important mission through donors and with its volunteers and staff to raise, manage, and return funds for the improvement of health in the communities served by Munson Healthcare.”
“It perfectly conforms with my own personal mission to provide good diagnostic services for people in my community.”
As president of the Munson Medical Staff and a member of the Munson Medical Center Board of Trustees, Carr said he willingly accepted a request to bring his perspective to the Foundation Board. “I have been raised to believe that when you are asked to serve, you should.” His three-year board term began in January.
A graduate of Indiana University’s medical school, Carr completed his internship and residency work in pathology at the University of Michigan. He serves on the board of the A. James French Society of Pathology. He joined Munson’s medical staff in 1996.
One of his favorite things to do is to usher during p erformances at his wife Betsy’s dance studio, Dance Arts Academy. He also enjoys weight lifting and playing guitar. A clear-bodied electric guitar sits off to the side in his office.
“I have a dream of being in a terrible garage band someday,” he laughed. His favorite music is ‘70s rock and southern rock.
What would he like people to know about him?
“That I’m very committed to providing the best medical care that I can as an individual physician and as part of a larger community, through individual financial support, campaigning for financial support, and standing by the excellent health care that’s provided by Munson Healthcare.”
