Skiers participating in the 29th annual Subaru North American Vasa on Feb. 12 also benefited the Women’s Cancer Fund. This year, $1,500 was directed to the fund, representing a portion of each race entry fee and sponsorships for kilometers skied.
“We appreciate the efforts of Subaru, Vasa, Crystal Mountain, the skiers, snowboarders, and their sponsors because contributions from both of these events go a long way in helping women meet very basic needs,” said Ruth Bloomer, Manager of the Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation. “A woman who is struggling with cancer has so many things to think about — we don’t want her to worry about how she’s going to pay for a utility bill or child care.”
