If
your child has emergency or critical medical needs, Munson Healthcare
provides individualized, compassionate, expert nursing care to
sick infants, children, and their families. We strive to be "family
friendly" and to make Pediatrics a place where parents are
involved in all aspects of their childs care.
Munson Medical Center offers a 21-bed unit,
caring for pediatric patients up to age 16 with a variety of medical
problems, such as respiratory illnesses, asthma, infections, diabetes,
and diarrhea. Children may also stay after surgery for tonsils
and adenoids, appendicitis, or orthopedic problems.
Parents are welcome to spend the night with
their child while he or she is in the hospital. We provide a fold-out
cot for one parent to sleep at their childs bedside. We
also have a pantry well-stocked with popsicles, sandwiches, juices,
and fruit. We encourage families to bring in those special foods
that their child might love. There is 24-hour visitation for parents,
and we welcome other family members and friends to visit during
the day or evening.
Pediatrics offers a well-stocked video library
for our young patients to enjoy. We also have a variety of age
appropriate toys to keep the little ones entertained. We are fortunate
to have frequent visits from area service organizations, bringing
entertainment, extra toys, and goodies during the holidays and
throughout the year.
In addition to the nursing staff, we offer
a medical social worker, dietitians, respiratory therapists, a
music therapist, and physical therapists available to provide
support and services to our pediatric patients.
If you are a Munson Healthcare patient and have a compliment,
concern, or complaint, please contact one of our Patient
