A2 specializes in intensive care and has 22
private rooms located just steps from surgery. The highly-trained
staff cares one-on-one for patients who have had surgery on their
heart and other areas of the chest. These surgeries include open
heart procedures such as:
• Open
heart surgery
• Minimally invasive bypass surgery (surgery on a beating
heart)
• Heart valve repair and replacement surgery
• Adult congenital heart surgery
• Thoracic aortic surgery
A2 critical care may include: ventilators,
intra-aortic balloon pumps, temporary pacemakers, and arterial
and pulmonary artery monitoring. All nurses on A2 are certified
in Advanced Cardiac Life Support by The
American Heart Association.
