A3 is a 38-bed specialized critical care area for patients who have
had a heart attack, congestive heart failure, interventional cardiac
procedures (angioplasty or stent), or other complicated heart
conditions. Critical care
features on the unit include temporary pacemakers, ventilators,
intra-aortic balloon pumps, and arterial and pulmonary artery
monitoring with the most advanced in monitoring equipment. The
highly-skilled staff are prepared to monitor fluid balances, regulate
temporary pacemakers, administer life-saving intravenous medications,
and treat life-threatening arrhythmias.
