Those patients who have some degree of kidney failure
but are not yet receiving dialysis treatment will have lab work
(blood and/or urine) monitored periodically. Dialysis patients
at the Munson Dialysis Center have their blood
work drawn monthly in order to make any necessary changes in their
treatment. The most commonly monitored tests for both groups are
as follows:
24-hour Creatinine Clearance
Albumin
Alkaline Phosphatase
Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)
Calcium
Complete Blood Count (including red blood cells,
white blood cells, hemoglobin, and hematocrit)
Iron levels (ferritin, iron, iron binding capacity,
% saturation)
Parathyroid Hormone level
Phosphorus
The Renal team will review all tests results with
the patient. For patients that are on dialysis, the Nephrologist,
the nurse, and the dietitian review the results of these tests.
If you are a Munson Healthcare patient and have a compliment,
concern, or complaint, please contact one of our Patient
