Living With Pain? Physician Offers Q&A Session
Pain management specialist addresses ways to cope with chronic pain
The American Pain Foundation reports that more than 25 percent of Americans suffer from persistent pain. Chronic pain affects not only body and soul, but also health care costs, lost income, and lost productivity.
Many conditions cause chronic pain including low back pain, shingles, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and cancer. Many therapies are available that can eliminate or lessen pain.
Howard J. Beck, M.D., a physician with the Munson Spine and Nerve Pain Treatment Center, will hold an informal question-and-answer session from noon - 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, in Munson Community Health Center's Classroom A & B. People interested in finding out more about pain, conditions related to pain, pain treatments, and ways of coping with chronic pain are invited to attend the session.
The program is free and open to the public, however registration is requested. For more information or to register, call (231) 935-9265.
Munson Community Health Center is located at 550 Munson Ave. in Traverse City.
